Welcome to Hanway Group Practice
Hanway Group is a large inner city practice
serving the health needs of approximately
11,000 of Portsmouth's population. Doctor
Richard Hughes leads a dedicated team of staff,
working in partnership with our patients to
offer the highest standards of medical care
in what is a constantly changing health service.
It has long been established in the Buckland area and
many of our patients will remember the small single-handed
surgery started in Portsea, and expanding firstly to
our Stubbington avenue surgery, then on to include
our purpose built site here at Hanway Road.
The group consists of a team of 6 doctors, Nurse Practitioner, 4 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants plus counsellors, alcohol prevention adviser, health visitors, midwives,
and district nurses who come and go during a busy week.
As a training practice it also has the benefits of
registrar doctors completing their final year of training
before becoming fully qualified GP's.
